1. Go to Settings Tab

From within the URL Aliases environment:

Click the Settings tab.

These are all of the different components that Pathauto will process and how it will process them.

The default settings should suffice for most use cases. We have, however, added the word "and" into the Strings to Remove text field.

2. Review Punctuation Settings

Click on the Punctuation fieldset to expand it.

Punctuation can be the bane of the web.

Many different types of punctuation have very specific meanings, programmatically. For example, an at sign, @, is reserved for email, not web traffic routing. Using one in its raw form in a URL will result in varying degrees of failure.

The default punctuation processing settings should suffice for most use cases. It's suggested that these aren't messed with unless you really know what you're doing.
