Some types of content, such as feeds, typically won't require revision control. By default, content that is deeper and more complex, such as book and feature story content, is configured to automatically use revision tracking in OSU Drupal.
If you create a new custom node type, and wish to automate your revision tracking, you'll need to configure it to do so.
The Views User Interface provides a default setting that will allow you to restrict access to a view. Please keep in mind that this does not restrict access to content itself.
